park time

We had some down time in Santa Rosa so we took the kiddies to a local park to play.  They had a blast just being kids.....

Redwood Forest

WOW!  I had never been to the Redwoods in northern California....they are so pretty!  We went on a trail-loop through a small portion of the forest and it was amazing.  The tallest tree on record there is 310ft tall, 14ft in diameter and 1400yrs old!  The forest was damp, dark and cold....even though it was a beautiful sunny California day.  The kids thought it was pretty cool as well!

the coast

We headed to the coast for part of our afternoon...what a treat!  There is nothing like seeing the ocean, such a great feeling.  These pictures were taken off the side of the road at the point where the Russian River meets the Pacific Ocean...gorgeous!

first haircut

After talking to my good friend Mandy a couple weeks ago I decided it was time to cut Wyatt's locks.  She had mentioned that she had just had her daughter Ava's hair trimmed, granted Ava has had a full of hair since day one, but Ava is 5 months younger than Wy-Wy.  So, I mentioned it to Steve, and he gave me the go ahead.  I dont know why I am always so sad to cut the little hair the first time, but once I do I am always thrilled with the result.  I think Wyatt looks adorable....such a little boy now!  No worries, I would not let the hair dresser cut off all of his curls.....they are still fully their in the back!

Wyatt is not the ideal client as you can see!  He screamed and cried from the moment he sat in the chair until I picked him up.  Luckily we take the kids to a childrens place to get their hair cut.

dancing with Emmy

Every Tuesday after preschool Emmy has a dance class that she attends at her school....an extracurricular activity of sorts.  She thinks it is so much fun, loves to dance and hang with her BFF Kelly.  So this past Tuesday parents were allowed to come at the end of class to see their Teddy Bear dance routine.  It was adorable, of course Wyatt was a disaster as we were trying to watch and wanted to be a part of the routine too.  So, my picture taking abilities were a little skewed!

Emmy and Kelly "shaking their silly's out"

Wyatt was able to join in for a bit

bathtime at the Buser's

Bathtime is a big deal at our house.  The kids love their baths and Steve and I have a pretty good time watching them.  Wyatt would prefer to walk laps in the bathtub if I'd let him, and Emmy likes to swim...and rinse her hair!.  These two would make a monsoon out of their bathroom if I let them!!!

could not resist!

a mini vaca

We enjoyed a quick trip to Albuquerque, NM this past weekend for a little family getaway.  My in laws have a darling vacation town home down there that we were able to use.  We went to Old Town and Madrid for lunches and window shopping.  Also took the kiddies to the Hot Air Balloon Museum, Aquarium and Botanical Gardens.  I did not get many pics of our great weekend, but a few of Emmy at the gardens.....
