pumpkin patch

We headed to Flat Acres Farm to pick our pumpkins.....great small running farm here in Parker.  This is our third year in a row going there, definitely something we will continue.  It was a cold day, but the kids had a great time on the tractor ride, picking pumpkins, going through the mazes and just having fun!!!!  Our good friends the Jenner's met us there.....Emmy and Marek are just 3 days apart.

fire truck

We were able to join a friend and her playgroup for a fire truck tour.  The kids had a blast, though Wyatt refused to get in the truck!  I would have thought he'd have been first in line, but Emerson was all about it.

first day of preschool

Emerson is in her second year of preschool, she is loving school more and more as the year goes on.  Cant believe she is gearing up for kindie next year!  She is still a social little bee and has been meeting new friends at school.  She is attending preschool 3 mornings a week and stays for dance and lunch bunch once a week too.  She already has made big strides at school this year....finally she can write her entire name!  This is a big accomplishment since she does not go by Emmy at school...."Emerson" is a bit of a challenge to write, but she's mastered it.   She also has really taken interest in riding her bike, still with training wheels, but we'll take it.  At first she was not too into it, but now all she wants to do every afternoon is ride, ride, ride.  We do have a nice setup with a  long driveway, so she can ride in circles till her heart is content.  I am pleased to say her soccer season has come to an end.  She is the soccer player that we anticipated....did not enjoy it!  We made it to 6 of her 8 games/practices and she did well running and following the other kids but never kicked the ball in a "game".  As Steve says, we will be sticking to dance!  Speaking of that is all she wants to do, so I plan on getting her into more of an organized dance studio come the first of the year.  But right now, her dance class at school is perfect.

Soccer

We signed Emerson up for soccer this fall....she had her first practice/game last Saturday.  I am not sure if she loves it, but she sure liked running around with the other kids and her best friend Kelly.  She does not quite get the concept of scoring goals, but she can sure run and follow the kids from offense to defense.  I am exciting for this season and to watch Emerson progress!  Steve and I just get a kick out of watching her....she is just such a princess.  She asked to put her soccer "tights" on...haha.  As soon as we got home from the game she ran to her room and changed to a dress!

San Diego...part 3

While in San Diego we also took the kids to Sea World and the San Diego Zoo!  Ron and Kathy kept us busy, but we would not want it any other way!  As I mentioned they have an awesome yard, so most evenings we played outside before dinner and conking out for the night.  The tether ball reached the top of Wyatt's head....perfect height for him to get bonked more than enough times!!!

Wyatt's laughs are contagious!

San Diego...part 2

Emerson has been asking to go to the beach, so Steve and I thought what better place than San Diego.  We usually make our trip out there in the spring time, but this year we decided on a summer trip so we could take the kids to the beach.  Ron chose La Jolla shores beach....no complaints here!  The kids had a blast, I don't think Emmy was ever out of the ocean and Wyatt was never in the ocean!  Emerson is such a water girl, loves everything about it and had no fear of the ocean or waves.  Now, my little Wyatt is an overly cautious kid, so he was not so keen on getting more than his toesies wet!  He loved playing in the sand though.  We sure do love California!

San Diego...part 1

We make a yearly trip down to San Diego to visit Steve's dad and stepmom...and this trip did not disappoint!  The kids love everything about going to Cali...and that starts with riding on the airplane!  Our kids have always done pretty well on flights, but this time Wyatt actually "got" that he was on a plane and thought it was so.much.fun.!  Below are pictures from our first day down there playing in Papa Ron's yard...it is so amazing and so much fun for the kiddies!

Wyatt's showing me his rock....he is such a boy.
