Family Pictures

We gave my parents family pictures this year for Christmas.....so fun! Since Brad is in town we had them taken on Sunday, which was perfect weather! I love them all and am so excited to get them ordered! I must say my kids are the cutest ever!!! Seriously, Emerson has so much personality and the photographer was able to capture "her"....love it!

My ballerina

Emerson got this darling ballerina outfit for Christmas from my parents.....she loves to play dress up and wear it around the house. Soooo cute! I LOVE having a girly girl!

Santa came....

Emerson and her new doctor kit....she keeps telling Steve and I that she will "fix us!"

Every boy needs a hammer...Wy could not have been happier.

The kids were so much fun Christmas morning! We all slept in....which was awesome! I think Emmy rolled out of bed around 9am....it was a late night at Nana and Papa's Christmas Eve. Emerson loved playing with all of her gifts from Santa....and there were so many from friends and family under the tree. Steve was shocked that we had all of them to open for just us. It took a while, but we took our time and just enjoyed it all. Santa was good to Steve this year bringing him a new snowboarding jacket and pants, and me an i-pad :).

We hosted Christmas Day dinner as we always do. This year we changed up the menu and it was delic! The weather on Christmas was crazy warm, so we were able to grill the beef tenderloin outside....perfect! I also made a roasted red pepper soup and my mom and Aunt Linda brought some great sides, salad and dessert. The day could have not been any better. This year we really felt the true meaning of Christmas and family in our home and with our families. Brad was home from Alaska which was the best gift of all....seeing him happy and healthy brings tears to us all.

We wish you all a very happy and healthy 2011

Merry Christmas EVE 2010!

My babes in their Christmas Eve outfits (yes, they had them for both days!) all ready for church.

Our family went to church on Christmas Eve this year as we always do. The kids were so well behaved too....it was the children's mass, so Emerson loved hearing the kids sing. We were lucky as we were there with my whole family...lots of baby tossing with Wyatt who is a typical 6 month old and cant sit still!

After church we headed over to my parents home for dinner and gifts. Brad brought back on the plane Alaskan king crab for dinner.....AMAZING. I have more pictures below, but check out the size of that crab! He cooked it up for us and we stuffed ourselves full. As Steve said, "that was one of the best meals I have ever had!"

This was the absolute best Christmas we have ever had for many, many reasons. We thank God for saving my brother (and all 4 guys on board) in a tragic plane crash back in September. Steve and I are so blessed to have two beautiful and healthy children this year. We could not be more lucky.

Look at that crab!!!

Our chef...

Emmy asked for a purple scarf.....Emmy gets what she wants!!!

Annual Tradition

We headed to Winter Park (5th year) this past weekend with the Johnson family to cut down our Christmas tree. The day did not disappoint! The weather was perfect for tree cutting and the snow just deep enough to make us all in the Christmas spirit! The kids loved it, Emerson is not quite old enough to tramp through that deep snow yet....so she kept yelling "need help" (she seemed to get stuck every few feet!) as we were wandering to find the perfect tree. She and Ryan had a snow fight and kept each other entertained while the boys cut down the trees. The day ended with a stop at Beau Joe's for some mountain pizza....delic!

Christmas Parade

We bundled up Thanksgiving weekend and headed to Estes Park to see the grandparents! We enjoyed our time there and even went to the Estes Holiday Parade. Emerson enjoyed it and seeing Santa at the end, it was pretty cold....Wyatt looks warm!

Impossible....

See above....family pictures are quite the joke. Emerson can NOT smile nicely for the camera....such a jokester! I know everyone who has a 2 year old goes through this, I have stopped getting angry and I just laugh now when I see these pictures. Look at that girl....what a goof! Don't worry, we did get ONE picture where we are all looking at the camera....check your mailboxes!

kiddos

These two are so cute together these days! I cant believe that they are starting to "play" together! Wyatt is just 6 months old, but he loves being around and being entertained by his big sister. She plays the music on all the annoying toys and dances for him, he laughs....its hilarious.

Wyatt had his 6 month appt today...growing like a weed!
17.45 pounds
27 3/4 inches long
**already eating me out of house and home

Emerson is so full of life! She is the best daughter in the world, and though she drives me batty (talking ALL the time!) I could not love her any more! She is so fun these days, talking, talking talking, questions, questions, questions! Steve and I find ourselves laughing at something she did or said daily. Her latest is every morning when we plug in all the Christmas decorations she tells me, "Mommy, I love Christmas" how sweet. She is a demanding little thing....before she even gets out of bed, she tells me she wants: milk, cold oatmeal (granola cereal) and raisin toast. She will not stop asking until it in on her plate on her high chair sitting in front of her morning cartoons.

People always ask how is she doing with Wyatt, and really it could not be better. She adores him to pieces, wants to be near him all the time. They play together on the floor now with toys and she torments him like any old sister would do to a little brother. She cant wait to go in his room every morning when he wakes up. She stands his crib rails and yells "Good morning buddy"! Wyatt loves her right back, he is a smiley baby.....but Emerson gets him right away.

I included a picture of Emmy and her "night-night" lamb. Night-night does not go anywhere without Emerson, and usually her thumb can be found in her mouth when he is around. Periodically night-night needs a bath as you can imagine! We give him a "bath" with the bath towels in the wash machine. This last time Emerson pretty much had a panic attack when he was in the washer...she stood at the laundry room door waiting for the cycle to be done. And no, no blow dry (dryer) for night-night....he went right into her arms nice and damp. Traumatizing.

Love you Emerson, Emmy, Schmem, Schmemmy, Schmoopy
