Kindergarten

Its official, Emerson is now in kindergarten!  I really can't believe it, we have a 5 year old in "real" school.  How did this happen?  She was a little nervous and timid, but very excited.  Steve was able to come to school with us to drop her off on her first day which was so nice.  She lined up with her class outside and once all students were there, they marched single file into the school.  No parents allowed inside the first day....she's so grown up!  She waived goodbye and that was it.  My tears came, Steve gave me a smile and off we went.  She is in part time kindie, but at her school that means all day Monday, Wednesday and a half day Friday morning.  So she had snacks and lunch in the cafeteria yesterday.  I was so excited to pick her up and hear all about her day!  She absolutely loved it, and told me it was not a long day at all!  7 hours for me was long!  Her biggest upset was that she was not riding the bus!  Luckily her good friend Brooke is in her class, so they were able to eat and play at recess together.  Her favorite part of the day was going to the computer lab....my how things have changed in the last 30 years!

two wheeling....

What a great, crazy busy summer this has been!  Between 2 kids running everywhere...parks, pools and now bike riding!  Emerson learned to ride a 2 wheeler this summer...so awesome to see!  We were riding bikes in our driveway on a Monday evening and she told Steve, "I want you to take my training wheels off".  Of course, he immediately said no!  I told him of a great park that has astroturf....I heard it was a good surface to teach little ones to ride a bike on.  If you fall...no worries!  So that night after dinner we headed over to the park and within 5 minutes she was cruising!  She had a lot of confidence on the turf because falling was no big deal.  We went back there a few more times for practice and now she's got it down.  She can ride all over our driveway and around a neighborhood path.  We don't have sidewalks here, so we have not let her ride in the street yet when we are out for an evening walk, but I think we are close.  So, so proud of this girl.

Estes Park

We had a weeks vacation up in Estes this summer with the Buser family....so fun!  Steve's dad and Kathy rented a beautiful home for us all to stay in.  The kids had a blast with their cousin Logan and it was great to have Kathy's daughter, Patricia and her family of 4 there too.  Papa Ron kept us busy for a week with hiking, mini golf, a tram ride, bumper boats, go carting, trail ridge road, boating in Grand Lake, a movie and lots of time spent at the YMCA.  Great memories!

Emmy is my daredevil!

Parker Days

We made it to the Parker Days carnival this year...what a blast!  We went with Steve's partner Jason and his family.  They have a daughter just 2 years older than Emmy....a built in friend to ride all the rides with!  It was perfect and the girls had so much fun.  Wyatt went on a few rides, but mainly just enjoyed walking around and seeing all the crazies that attend carnivals!  We also met up with some friends there....The Johnsons, so at one point we had a lot of kids to wrangle to all the rides.  Made for a perfect day.

Wyatt's 3rd birthday with the Huggett's!

We were lucky enough to have our good friends, the Huggets in town for Wyatt's actual birthday!  They are now a family of 4 too....with identical twin girls!  It was so fun to visit with them and watch our kids play together.  Wyatt, Tage and Rylan are just 5 months apart, so they had a blast....and any time girls are around Emerson is in heaven!  We kept busy playing in the yard, going to a park, out to eat, a pool party and to a Rockies game.  So fun!

this little guy had a blast at the Rockies game

Wyatt turns three!

I can't believe how fast my little man is growing!  He is such an awesome boy, and I sure do love having a boy!  That said, he is ALL BOY, ALL the time!  Everything is trucks, dirt, bikes and bugs.  He has the most darling (and loud!) personality....in such a little body.  So lucky to have him.  We had a great day celebrating him turning 3, he was thrilled to pick out his CARS cake this year....as long as Lightning McQueen was on it we were in good shape.  Wyatt was spoiled by all of our friends and family, the day could not have been any better.  He sure is going to be an amazing big brother to this little guy.
love, love, love these two!

Happy 3rd Birthday cowboy!
