last day of school

I have mixed emotions about this one.  I am so happy to have Emmy home for the summer, but I am schedule person.  Her being in preschool away from the home two days a week was so good for her, she never cried or complained and loved going.  She only missed one day of school all year and that was when we went to San Francisco for a family wedding.  She was bummed that school was over until August, but excited at what the summer holds!  Family trips, swimming, ice cream, play dates, parks, back yard time and summer camp!  Her school offers summer camps for 2 week sessions....so we signed Emerson up for 2 sessions and she is thrilled.  Many of her school friends are also attending.....my girl is a "social butterfly" as her teacher put it.  I love that she loves school, transitions like this can be hard and we have been very lucky thus far!!!  Cant believe one more year of preschool and she is off to kindie!!!!

Moab

Before Steve and I had kids we would go to Moab in May with a big group of friends and camp for the weekend....it was a blast.  We have wanted to go back for years now that we have kids, but never got it together.  Well, we did this year and it was amazing.  We rented a pop up camper and headed west with about 40+ friends, and friends of friends!  It was an amazing group....some new, and some old.  Lots of kids this year and that was a first.  We camped at our usual spot near Dead Horse Canyon....Lost Canyon is amazing as you can see.  However, we are on an "island in the sky" and being near a 600ft cliff was a bit nerve wracking with so many kids.  The kids did so well, never wandered away....so this is a trip we plan to continue with Emmy and Wyatt!

We hiked Delicate Arch which is probably one of the most photographed arches in the US!  Its on the Utah license plate.  Emerson did this hike!  On her own two feet!  That is a big accomplishment for her.....she is usually complaining after 50ft.  We promised her ice-cream and she did it!  We are so proud of her, she didn't complain much.  Wyatt rode in the pack on Steve's back and never made a peep.  The hike took us a bit longer with Emmy....I think about 3 hours start to finish, but it was worth every minute. Such a great memory for Steve and I.

preschool performance!

Emerson's school had an end of year performance that the kids put on muffins for moms to celebrate Mothers Day.  It was darling to see all the littles up at the alter of the church singing songs.  We are so proud of our girl, I can't believe she is 4 years old and we are attending functions like this for her.  Amazing.  I teared up a few times as she was singing and got her award....note:  when the kids names were called out they were able to stand up and accept their award for completing preschool for the year.  They said a little blurb about each kids and what they wanted to be when they grew up (you know-docs, firefighters)....or in Emerson's case a "pink princess"!  Love my girly girl!

Before we went to the school performance I was able to snap a few shots of her and Wyatt....cute.
